Responsible Packaging
Our commitment is to ensure our products are increasingly made out of materials that are more likely to be recycled and less likely to end up as landfill.
The impact of this is twofold. Firstly, recycling reduces the amount of waste in landfills. Secondly, and more importantly, it means less new non-renewable materials are pulled out of the ground and less greenhouse gases are created in the process of creating new packaging and managing waste materials. Part of the education around packaging is in understanding the importance of good recycling.
Our criteria for all new packaging selection:
Recycling
Recycling is the process of turning one products useful parts into a new product; this is done to conserve on the consumption of resources, energy and space used in landfills. In today's all too throw away society we must remind ourselves of the benefits of recycling.
Recycling 1 plastic bottle not only saves anywhere from 100 to 1000 years in the landfill but also saves the environment from the emissions in producing new bottles as well as the oil used to produce that bottle.
For every 1 tonne of plastic that is recycled we save the equivalent of 2 people's energy use for 1 year, the amount of water used by 1 person in 2 month's time and almost 2000 pounds of oil.
Recycling just 1 uspa plastic bottle means a new lease of life for that bottle. That bottle can then be recycled into rubbish bins, carpets, outdoor decking. As creativity develops around the uses for recycled plastic then so will our potential to make items that once required "new" plastic. This overall approach results in a more sustainable future. The uspa plastic bottles are an ideal bottle for recycling. We use HDPE and PET plastics and both of these recycle well within your local curbside recycling collections.
Uspa uses glass for many of its products. Glass can be recycled indefinitely. When we do not recycle at least our glass we cost the earth in power, water, oil and landfill usage; glass takes up to 4000 years to decompose in a landfill yet can be recycled indefinitely.
Our packaging boxes are made from recycled card and printed with soy ink.
Although our bottles can be recycled it is actually up to the consumer to fulfill this part of the journey. If our consumers do not recycle then our bottles will not be able to be manufactured into something new and exciting.
By increasing awareness to our customers on recycling then we increase our commitment to the earth and a sustainable way of living.

Recycling 1 plastic bottle not only saves anywhere from 100 to 1000 years in the landfill but also saves the environment from the emissions in producing new bottles as well as the oil used to produce that bottle.
